a) Uniform:

In our school like in the International Federation of Aikido (F.I.A.), we do not use colour belts, the degrees advance by kyu’s, these go from 6th kyu to 1st kyu (equivalent to a brown belt) later shodan (Black belt) and so on.

b) The Arms:

Our school uses the following ones: Tanto (wooden knife), Bokken (wooden sword), and Jo (wooden club). It is necessary that each student has his own equipment of arms for the classes.

Many aikido techniques come from the Ken Jutsu, in order to learn the handling of the Katana is a way to go further on in the progress of the aikido. For that reason in our school there are Iaido classes.
