MASTERS OF THE WAY


Kisshomaru Ueshiba.
Doshu.


On June 14 1970, Kisshomaru Ueshiba was elected to succeed his father as Aiki Doshu, or “Master of the Way”, by unanimous decision of the Aikikai Federation. Born on 1921 at Ayabe, he was the third son and only survivor of Morihei and Hatsu Ueshiba. He became director of the Kobukan Dojo on 1942, after O’Sensei retire to Iwama. The II Doshu was the man that develops the Aikikai Hombu Dojo and occupied the technical direction since 1948. He traveled the first time to the Occident on 1964.

On 1967 was name president of Aikikai Federation. The last words of O’Sensei before he died, taking his hand was “take care of things”, he accomplished his mission to the end. In fact he is responsible to internationalization of Aikido that happened since the fifties on France, Hawai, New York and United States, and continues on the sixties on Spain, England, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Australia and countries of the Southeast Asia, to reach on our days every corner of the planet. This was an expansion mark by Doshu worries that is this process the profound richness of the Japanese culture was lost, for this reason the International Federation of Aikido was formed on Madrid Spain on 1975. The Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba dies on January of 1999 at 77 years of age. His funeral and Fear Well Public Act was made with the presence of great masters and leaders of the Aikido World. Actually Moriteru Ueshiba direct the Aikikai Federation (Tokyo 1954), he is Kisshomaru son and the founder grandson. He is Doshu since 1999.

Born on 1951, son of Kisshomaru Ueshiba, he graduated from Meiji Gakuin University on 1976, we became master of the World Aikido Group on 1986. and on 1996 he was elected as Chairman of the Aikikai Federation. On 1999 he became Aikido Doshu after his father died at the same year. Actually he possess several important titles related to martial arts and is a reliable member of the Martial Arts Wall of Fame Nipon Bodukan, at downtown Tokyo.

Yamada Yoshimitsu Shihan.
Biography Summary


Master Yoshimitsu Yamada, who possess an Aikido 8th Dan black belt, was born on 1938 at Tokyo Japan. On 1955 was accepted as Uchideshi (intern student) at Hombu Dojo (Aikido Headquarters) to study this art with the Grand Master Ueshiba Morihei. On 1964 traveled to New York and established the Aikido American Headquarters.

He performed many exhibitions on television to spread the knowledge of Aikido. He is the United States Aikido Director and consulting member of the International Aikido Federation at Tokyo Japan; he is also the President of the Latin America Aikido Federation.
