WHAT'S ZEN?
There is one narrow relation between the aikido and the Zen, through Zen is reached the unit and interdependence of the body and the spirit whom he requires practices of the aikido.
The practice of Zazen is fundamentally in 3 points:
a)The completely seated position immobile.
b)The mental attitude, to let pass the thoughts, the emotions without stopping in anything.
c)The breathing centered in a deep and slow "expiration". Zen just like aikido knows the great importance of the breathing process.
d)Through Zazen we obtain the harmony with the universe by the forgetfulness of the “ego” and the action of the body.
Zen, just like aikido cannot be understood through simple thought, it must be practiced, since it is a personal experience.
